Disney Channel has handed a full series order to Evermoor, its first original UK production. The channel has commissioned a further 20 episodes and given the show a new title, The Evermoor Chronicles, continuing the story begun in last year’s mini-series.
Made by Lime Pictures and filmed in England, the series follows Tara Crossley, an American teenager who moves with her blended family to the remote and slightly eerie village of Evermoor. While her mother and stepfather settle into the family’s new home at Evermoor Manor, Tara stumbles onto the village’s biggest secret: a magical tapestry, woven by a select group known as the Everines, that can foretell the future.
As she gets to grips with that world, Tara learns she has a part to play in it herself, and finds her ordinary teenage worries tangled up with the village’s ancient magic. The expanded run marks a milestone for Disney Channel as its first homegrown scripted series made outside North America.
