Archive Disney Channel’s First UK Production ‘Evermoor’ Picked Up For Full Series – TVWise

Disney Channel is moving forward with their first UK live-action production Evermoor.
Disney Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA) has handed out a full series order to the project, which began its life as a four episode miniseries starring Naomi Sequeira. The full series has received an order for 20 episodes and is working under the title The Evermoor Chronicles, which is envisioned as a follow up to the original mini.
The Evermoor Chronicles will continue to follow the adventures of lead character Tara Crossley (Sequeira) and her search to uncover the mysteries of the founding Everines. The series will feature characters from the miniseries as well as introduce a range of new characters and cast members.
The move to pick up a full series comes after Evermoor proved to be a ratings hit when it launched on Disney Channel UK last October. The four-parter attracted over 1.6 million viewers, making it Disney Channek UK’s second highest rated series. After its UK debut, Evermoor was rolled out across Disney’s international footprint, airing on the Disney Channel in numerous international territories including the United States.
“We’re delighted that the mini-series has proven to be a hit with audiences around the world. Viewer feedback has been incredibly encouraging and it’s clear that our audience has built a strong connection with the characters and their backstories in such a short space of time”, said David Levine, General Manager of Disney Channel UK & Ireland. “Greenlighting a full season demonstrates our commitment to creating entertaining shows that resonates with both local and global audiences.”
Like the original miniseries, The Evermoore Chronicles will be produced by Hollyoaks and The Only Way Is Essex indie Lime Pictures. The auspices behind Evermoor – including co-creators Diane Whitely & Tim Compton, writer Bede Blake and executive producer Rebecca Hodgson – are all returning for The Evermoore Chronicles. Production is set to begin this Summer in Liverpool and Warrington (where a special set has been constructed) for a late 2015 premiere on Disney Channel in the UK and worldwide.
“We are thrilled to be working with Disney on a full series of The Evermoor Chronicles“, added Claire Poyser, Lime Pictures’ Joint Managing Director. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to continue to delight audiences with the brilliant stories and superb production values that Lime Pictures is renowned for.”
