Syfy UK has set a premiere date for 12 Monkeys, with the time-travel drama making its UK debut on Friday February 27th at 9pm.
Created by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, the series is a reworking of the 1995 film. Aaron Stanford stars as James Cole, a man sent back from a ravaged 2043 on a dangerous mission: to track down and destroy the source of a plague that will go on to wipe out most of humanity. The plague is the work of a shadowy organisation known as the Army of the 12 Monkeys, and to stop it Cole enlists the help of virologist Dr Cassandra Railly, played by Amanda Schull.
The thirteen-part first season also features Kirk Acevedo, Noah Bean and Barbara Sukowa. Produced for the US Syfy network, it forms part of the channel’s renewed push into scripted science fiction.
