Fox International Channels has signed a global deal for the broadcast and syndication rights to Wayward Pines, the upcoming Fox event series. The agreement clears the way for the thriller to roll out across the company’s networks around the world.
Based on Blake Crouch’s novels and executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan, who also directs, Wayward Pines stars Matt Dillon as Secret Service agent Ethan Burke. Sent to the seemingly idyllic Idaho town of Wayward Pines to track down two missing federal agents, Burke wakes after a car crash to find he cannot leave, and that the picture-perfect community is hiding something deeply wrong.
The ten-part series also features Carla Gugino, Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard, Toby Jones and Juliette Lewis. Fox International Channels’ deal sets the show up for a wide international release alongside its US run.
