Turner Broadcasting has unveiled its 2014 programming slate for the UK, presented at an event at The Soho Hotel in London. The line-up is headed by four new long-form shows for Cartoon Network and a brand new Tom and Jerry series.

The four Cartoon Network titles, all of which have already debuted in the United States, were introduced by Patricia Hidalgo, Turner’s chief content and creative officer for the region. Among them is Uncle Grandpa, an original comedy from Cartoon Network Studios about a magical relative who travels the world in a mystical RV, which arrives on Monday April 14. Steven Universe, another Cartoon Network Studios comedy, follows in May, centring on a young boy who is the little brother to a team of magical guardians known as the Crystal Gems. Clarence, created by Skyler Page, is also part of the slate and lands later in the year.

The headline animation news is a new take on Tom and Jerry. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the revival keeps the look and spirit of the original while dropping the cat and mouse into fresh scenarios. It reaches UK and Irish screens on Boomerang in April.

Boomerang features in the wider plans too, with refreshed runs of classic favourites including Tom and Jerry and Powerpuff Girls forming part of Turner’s year ahead.
