FX has set a premiere date for its new comedy Saint George, with the George Lopez sitcom starting on Thursday March 6th at 9/8c.
It is the second show FX has picked up under the so-called 10/90 model, following Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management. Under that arrangement, if the series hits certain ratings targets across its opening ten episodes, the network triggers a further 90-episode order in one go.
Created by George Lopez with Matt Williams and David McFadzean, the multi-camera comedy casts Lopez as a version of himself: a working-class Mexican-American who has made good as an entrepreneur. He is caught between his Anglo ex-wife Mackenzie and his overbearing mother Alma as he tries to do right by his young son Harper, with his freeloading uncle and cousin adding to the chaos. Jenn Lyon, Olga Merediz, Danny Trejo and David Zayas co-star.
