EXCLUSIVE: BBC One and Kudos Film & Television had found the director for their upcoming three-part drama From There To Here. I’ve learned that accomplished director James Strong has signed on to helm the three-parter. Strong, repped by WME and United Agents, has previously directed on such drama series as Law & Order: UK, Downton Abbey, the BBC/Cinemax co-production Hunted and, more recently, ITV’s Broadchurch. I hear that Kudos and BBC One are planning to begin production on the drama next month.
Created by Peter Bowker, From There To Here is set in the aftermath of the 1996 Arndale bombing and follows a Manchester family man who is torn between the life he wants and the life he could have. This is a funny, characterful and moving drama about a man whose life is rocked to the core – a family saga which begins in Manchester in the summer of 1996, on the day when an IRA bomb exploded in the city centre. Against the feel-good backdrop of Euro 96, it maps the emotional shockwaves generated by that bomb in the lives of two parallel families from different sides of the tracks. Kudos Film & TV is producing with Derek Wax and Stephen Wright serving as executive producers.
