Syfy UK has set a premiere date for the second season of Continuum, with the Canadian sci-fi drama returning on Thursday May 23rd.
Created by Simon Barry, the series stars Rachel Nichols as Kiera Cameron, a police officer from the year 2077 who is dragged back to the present day when a group of terrorists, Liber8, escape execution by fleeing through time to 2012. Stranded, Kiera works alongside the Vancouver police while hiding her origins and searching for a way home, helped by teenage tech prodigy Alec Sadler.
The new season picks up from the first-season finale, in which Kiera raced to stop a devastating act of terrorism by Liber8. With the group still at large and her own loyalties increasingly tested, Kiera is drawn deeper into the conspiracies shaping the future she is trying to get back to.
