Kacey Ainsworth, Rufus Jones and Michael Falzon have joined the cast of Ben Elton’s new BBC One sitcom, The Wright Way.
The series marks Elton’s return to the studio sitcom, his first since The Thin Blue Line. It is set in the health and safety department of the fictional Baselricky Council and stars David Haig as Gerald Wright, an officer who takes the minimising of risk extremely seriously, both at work and at home.
Ainsworth, best known for EastEnders, plays Gerald’s ex-wife Valerie, who left him after more than twenty years of marriage, worn down by his stickler’s devotion to the rules. Jones and Falzon also feature among the new additions to the line-up.
Written by Elton and recorded in front of a studio audience, The Wright Way is due to air on BBC One later this year.
