EXCLUSIVE: MTV is heading to LA. My sources are telling me that MTV has closed a deal with Echo Bridge to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to both seasons of Canadian drama series The LA Complex. I’m also being told that the show’s first season is set to premiere on MTV in early 2013.

Created by Martin Gero (Stargate Atlantis), The LA Complex follows the lives of six young performers striving for stardom in Hollywood. Living in an apartment-style motel for displaced dreamers, each having been dubbed “most likely to succeed” in their hometowns, they now face the challenges and opportunities of a lifetime in the City of Angels. The drama series, which is broadcast by CTV in Canada and The CW in the United States, stars Jewel Staite, Jonathan Patrick Moore, Joe Dinicol, Chelan Simmons, Cassie Steele and Benjamin Charles Watson.

TVWise’s Acquisitions Scorecard has been updated with this new information.
