BBC One has cancelled In With The Flynns after two series, TVWise can reveal. The Manchester-set family sitcom will not return for a third run.

Created by Caryn Mandabach and made by her company Caryn Mandabach Productions, the show was a British take on the American sitcom Grounded for Life. Will Mellor and Niky Wardley starred as Liam and Caroline Flynn, a couple who became parents as teenagers and are now raising three children, with Warren Clarke as Liam’s widowed father Jim, who lives with them.

The first series ran in the summer of 2011, with a second following in August this year, filmed at MediaCityUK in Salford. The second run drew a cooler response and softer ratings, and the BBC has now opted not to continue with it.
