BBC One has set a premiere date for Hunted, with the espionage thriller starring Melissa George due to begin on Thursday October 4th.
Created by Frank Spotnitz, of The X-Files, the series stars George as Sam Hunter, a sharp and resourceful operative for Byzantium, a secretive private intelligence firm. While finishing a job abroad, Sam survives an attempt on her life that leaves her badly injured. Unsure who wanted her dead, and suspecting it came from within her own organisation, she disappears to recover before returning to work close to a year later.
Her reappearance unsettles colleagues wary of where she has been, not least Aidan Marsh, her secret lover, played by Adam Rayner. A co-production with the US network Cinemax, made by Kudos and Big Light Productions, Hunted also features Stephen Dillane and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Sam’s superiors at Byzantium.
