5* Acquires UK Rights To TBS’s Dramedy Series ‘Wedding Band’

Channel 5 has closed a deal with FreemantleMedia Enterprises to acquire the exlcusive first run UK broadcast rights to TBS’s upcoming dramedy series Wedding Band for its 5* channel. The deal was inked last year, ahead of MIPCOM 2011, and will see the show’s ten episode first season premiere on 5* in 2013.

Created by Josh Lobis and Darin Moiselle, Wedding Band centers on the bromance of four likable but occasionally reckless young men who can’t figure out their own lives. One thing they have figured out, however, is that weddings are the wildest parties in town. After all, the groupies are bridesmaids, the drinks are free and the best part, there’s a paycheck waiting at the end of the night. It’s not just weddings, the band also brings the party to bar mitzvahs, high-school reunions and even bachelorette parties. Wedding Band is produced by FremantleMedia North America and stars Brian Austin Green, Harold Perrineau, Peter Cambor, Derek Miller, Melora Hardin, Jenny Wade and Kathryn Fiore.
