Exclusive: I have just learned that UKTV’s Watch channel has closed a deal with Disney Media Distribution to acquire the exclusive first-run UK pay TV rights to both seasons of TNT’s recently renewed drama series Perception. My sources are also telling me that the show’s first season will premiere on Watch & Watch HD this October.

Created by Kenneth Biller & Mike Sussman, the drama series follows Dr. Daniel Pierce, an eccentric neuroscience professor with paranoid schizophrenia who is recruited by the FBI to help solve complex cases. Perception is produced by ABC Studios and stars Eric McCormack as Dr. Daniel Pierce, Rachel Leigh Cook as FBI Special Agent Kate Moretti, Arjay Smith as Max Lewicki, Kelly Rowan as Natalie Vincent and LeVar Burton as Paul Haley. The drama series, produced by ABC Studios, premiered in the US on TNT on July 9th to become one of the top series premieres on basic cable of 2012, ranking third behind the August 13 premiere of Major Crimes and the June 13 premiere of TNT’s Dallas on the list of this year’s top series debuts on cable. The series also ranks second behind TNT’s Major Crimes among basic cable’s top new scripted series launches for the year-to-date.

TVWise’s Acquisitions Scorecard has been updated with this new information.
