E4 has set a UK premiere date for Suburgatory, the American sitcom, with the show starting on Tuesday July 17th.
Created by Emily Kapnek, the comedy follows single dad George Altman, played by Jeremy Sisto, a New York architect who panics when he finds a packet of condoms in his teenage daughter’s room and promptly moves the pair of them out to the suburbs for a more wholesome life. Jane Levy plays his sardonic daughter Tessa, who is appalled by the manicured lawns, perma-tanned classmates and pushy parents of their new neighbourhood.
Tessa’s dry running commentary becomes the lens on a town that is all surface and very little substance. Cheryl Hines co-stars as glamorous local queen bee Dallas Royce, with Carly Chaikin as her daughter and Tessa’s rival Dalia, and Alan Tudyk as George’s old college friend Noah.
