The 13 episode first season of A&E’s crime drama series The Glades will receive its UK premiere on UKTV’s Alibi channel on Tuesday September 11th at 9pm, it has been announced.

Created by Clifton Campbell, The Glades follows the exploits of Jim Longworth, a Chicago homicide detective who, after being accused of sleeping with the wife of his commanding officer, moves to Palm Glade, Florida in search of the easy life. Longworth then joins the state police (the Florida Department of Law Enforcement) where he must tackle with the unusually high homicide rate in eastern Florida. The drama series stars Matt Passmore as Jim Longworth, Kiele Sanchez as Callie Cargill, Carlos Gomez as Carlos Sanchez, Uriah Shelton as Jeff Cargill, Jordan Wall as Daniel Green and Michelle Hurd as Colleen Manus.

In the show’s pilot episode (airing September 11th), the easy life quickly falls by the wayside when a decapitated, unidentifiable woman is found in a creek, begrudgingly dragging Longworth off the golf course in pursuit of her killer. Complicating matters more is his relationship with Callie, a hot and savvy nurse he has a crush on. With a Titleist sitting on the fourteenth fairway waiting for him to break eighty for the first time in his life, Longworth needles, cajoles, and harangues everyone in his path, including his golf partner and department medical examiner Carlos (Gómez), as he puzzles out the facts surrounding the mysterious killing to try and identify the victim and bring her killer to justice.
