Exclusive: I have just learned that Universal Channel has closed a deal with 20th Century Fox Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to The Finder, the short lived spin-off of Fox’s long running drama series Bones. I’m also being told that Universal Channel currently has the series penciled in for a July premiere.

Created by Hart Hanson, The Finder follows Walter Sherman, a former MP who, while serving in the United States Army, earned a reputation for being able to track down anything or anyone. Walter may have left the military, but his reputation as a discreet professional who can unearth anything and anyone has been passed on to generals, politicians and other powerful figures. His first post-military assignment was to find the CIA head honcho’s missing daughter and bring her home. Walter did both, and since then has never been without an assignment. Produced by 20th Century Fox Television, the drama series stars Geoff Stults, Michael Clarke Duncan, Mercedes Masohn, Maddie Hasson and Toby Hemingway.

TVWise’s Acquisitions Scorecard has been updated with this new information. We will bring you the UK premiere date for The Finder just as soon as it is announced by Universal.

Presumably Sky Living didn’t want it after it was cancelled after the 1st and only season. I quite liked the one episode we have seen perhaps the rest were not as good.

Fantastic news, the finder petition to save the show has over 14,000 signatures.
Like a fine wine the Finder series matured and just got better after each episode.
By episode 13 it was captivating and left us at a cliffhanger/unresolved storyline.
The network channel didn’t understand that it was loved by a wider range of ages.
I can whole heartily recommend anyone to watch this fantastic tv series with great chemistry!

Why not? Let’s cancel another hit show… every one that comes out, that I and friends happen to like, and crowd around the TV regularly gets cancelled! I guess there’s not enough hollywood ‘left’ in these shows, or maybe there’s too much Real American ‘right’… either way, it joins another long list of shows that leave us wanting more, and recieving absolutely nothing… i.e., Adventures Of Brisco County, Jr., Alcatraz, Birds Of Prey, The Cape (iffy), Caprica (2), Chase, Combat Hospital, Defying Gravity, Dogfights (2), The Event & Flash Forward (never understood these, but good acting), Firefly, Flash Gordon (iffy), The Forgotten (Christian Slater curse(?)), Human Target (2), Invasion, Jericho (2), Jurassic Fight Club, Moonlight, MonsterQuest (4), My Own Worst Enemy (C.C. curse(?)), Mystery Quest (not as good as MQ), Night Stalker, No Ordinary Family, Past Life, Point Pleasant, The River, Stargate Universe (2), Surface, Terminator; The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Terra Nova, Threshold, & V (2). From all the above, the Network(s) biggest screwups in cancellation are Firefly, The Forgotten, Human Target, Invasion, Jericho, No Ordinary Family, The River, SGU, Terra Nova & V… Everyone, I mean EVERYONE I talk with agrees that these shows were cancelled way too early… And yes, I and my friends have nothing better to do!!

Thanks a bunch. Usually play the tune a few times at the beginning of each show.
