Channel 5 has acquired the UK rights to Person of Interest, the CBS thriller.
Created by Jonathan Nolan and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, the series stars Jim Caviezel as John Reese, a presumed-dead former CIA operative, and Michael Emerson as Harold Finch, a reclusive billionaire who built a powerful surveillance computer for the government. Finch’s Machine watches everything and can predict acts of lethal violence before they happen, identifying the people involved only by their social security number.
The catch is that it never reveals whether that person is about to be a victim or a perpetrator, leaving Reese and Finch to work out which as they intervene. Taraji P. Henson co-stars as NYPD detective Joss Carter, who is soon on Reese’s trail.
