It’s Official: Syfy Acquires UK Rights To ‘Killjoys’, Picks Up ‘Extant’ Season 2
Syfy UK has closed a deal with sister company NBCUniversal International Distribution to acquire the exclusive UK rights to Killjoys, TVWise has learned. HBO has unveiled a new teaser trailer for the upcoming sixth season of Game Of Thrones, which is set to premiere in April on HBO in the U.S. and Sky Atlantic in the UK. 
ITV has given the green-light to The Halcyon, an eight episode period drama set in a bustling and glamorous five star hotel at the centre of London society during the second world war, which hails from Strike Back indie Left Bank Pictures.
Despite the recently approved plans to move the channel online, BBC Three remains committed to scripted content. The youth-skewing channel has renewed their hit comedy series Uncle, from Oliver Refson and Baby Cow Productions, for a third season. 
UKTV is bringing three of their channels to Freesat. The commercial network, which is a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks Interactive, has struck a deal with Freesat which will see Drama, Really and Yesterday launch on the subscription-free satellite TV service, TVWise has learned.
ITV has renewed their Stephen Tompkins fronted drama series DCI Banks for a fifth season, TVWise has learned. Six episodes have been ordered for season five, which begins production in Yorkshire early next year for a 2016 premiere.
