Indie October Films has hired former Vice Studios exec Neil Breakwell to serve as their new Head of Topical Programmes. In the newly created senior role, Breakwell develop and executive produce new programming with a particular focus on live shows, fast response documentaries, younger skewing formats and integration across digital platforms. Breakwell was previously Vice-President of News & Current Affairs at Vice Studios, where he was responsible for the company’s news and current affairs development and factual content. Channel 4 is set to explore pot. The PSB has handed out a two episode series order to fixed-rig marijuana documentary series The Drugs Café. The series is set in a Dutch coffee shop and follows adults of all ages and backgrounds as they take marijuana, sometimes for the first time. The series is set air on Good Food in 2019, followed by a repeat window on W. The five episode series follow Paul Hollywood as he embarks on a road trip across the USA.
