ABC’s upcoming series, The River, will receive it UK premiere on iTunes. The series, which is due to begin airing in the United States on February 7th, currently does not have a UK broadcaster, Disney has confirmed. The River will premiere on the UK iTunes store on February 8th, when the series first two episodes will be available for download; just 24 hours after their broadcast in the United States. Speaking of the show debuting in the UK on iTunes, executive producer Oren Peli said: “Right from the start, we’ve had a global audience in mind for The River the show preys on universal human fears, and follows a journey to an exotic, remote setting. I’m excited to be debuting the show on iTunes.”

HBO has released a new trailer for Game Change, the network’s upcoming two hour TV movie about Sarah Palin and her role in the 2008 presidential campaign. Game Change boasts an impressive cast which includes Julianne Moore (Far From Heaven), Ed Harris (Apollo 13), Woody Harrelson (Cheers) and Peter MacNicol (Ally McBeal, Numb3rs). The movie is set to premiere on March 10th at 9/8c.

Season 5 of Murdoch Mysteries will have its global premiere on Alibi on Tuesday February 28th at 9pm, the UKTV owned channel has announced. The series, which has been a ratings winner for Alibi, is a co-production between UKTV, Citytv (who currently airs the series in Canada), ITV Studios Global Entertainment and Shaftesbury Films. The fifth season of Murdoch Mysteries is poised to pick up right off from the season 4 finale which saw William Murdoch being framed for murder and, after proving his innocence, assisting the confessed killer escape police custody.

HBO is getting back into horse racing. The premium cable network has renewed David Milch’s newest series, Luck, which premiered on Sunday night to a less than stellar 1.06 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The pickup is for ten additional episodes, which will air in January 2013. Production on the second season is slated to begin in February.
