NBC has handed a straight-to-series order to Hannibal. The project skipped the traditional model of the network ordering a pilot and was instead handed an immediate 13 episode order.
TBS Orders 35 More Episodes Of Tyler Perry’s For Better Or Worse
TBS has ordered an additional 35 episodes of Tyler Perry’s newest series, For Better Or Worse. The series completed its first season on the network in December and, over the course of its first season, averaged 2.9 million viewers and 1.6 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic. The series will return to its Friday night time-slot in the summer alongside new series Men At Work and The Wedding Band.
E4 Acquires Rights To Suburgatory
E4 has bought the rights to one of ABC’s newest comedy series, Suburgatory. The channel has acquired the 22 episode first season from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution and will begin airing the series later this year.
PTC Takes Aim At MTV’s I Just Want My Pants Back
The Parents Television Council is taking aim at another series this TV season – MTV’s I Just Want My Pants Back. The organisation has something of a history with MTV, having campaigned vigorously against the networks adaptation of the popular UK series Skins for what the PTC deemed to be promoting underage sex.
Sky 1 Sets UK Premiere Date For Touch
Kiefer Sutherland is returning to Sky 1. The channel has confirmed that they will start airing his new drama series Touch on Tuesday March 13th at 8pm.
PBS UK Sets Premiere Date For George HW Bush
Exclusive: PBS UK will air a four hour biography on America’s 41st President, George HW Bush, just one week after the global premiere of Clinton on the channel. The documentary will be broadcast across four nights, starting on February 27th at 10:15 pm with the final installment airing on March 1st.
TCM Eyeing Summer Premiere For Hell On Wheels
Exclusive: TCM will premiere AMC’s western series Hell On Wheels in the UK in the summer, sources at the channel confirm exclusively to TVWise. I’m being told that nothing has been set in stone yet, but they are looking at either late May or early June as the likely time of year when the series will debut.
Fox Announces Return Date For Bones, Finale For House
