Ratings hit Call The Midwife, which has already been renewed for a second season, aired its season finale last night and became BBC One’s most successful new drama series in ten years. Last nights episode drew in 9.2 million viewers and, over the course of the show’s first season, Call The Midwife averaged 8.7 million viewers and a 29.6% share.

Pilot Season: Bill Lawrence Issues Open Casting Call For His Fox Pilot Starring Colin Ferguson

In a break with the norm for pilot castings, Scrubs and Cougar Town creator Bill Lawrence has issued an open casting call for an actor to play the role of the 20 year old son of Colin Ferguson’s character in his upcoming pilot for Fox titled Like Father. Fox ordered the sitcom pilot last month and the project is said to be based on Lawrence’s relationship with his own father. Per Bill Lawrence’s tweets: “So, open casting call for tv pilot. Looking for Colin Ferguson’s 20 yr old son. 19-21 yr old actors, post video on youtube of you doing Any scene (1 min or less) then email link to [email protected] Our team will watch (but only if you look the part age, etc…)” The experiment to find an actor outside of either New York City or Los Angeles is certainly an interesting one. Lawrence’s team will be accepting submissions at the above email through Wednesday.

Alibi Unveils Trailer For Murdoch Mysteries Season 5

Alibi has released a short trailer for the upcoming fifth season of its Canadian crime drama series, Murdoch Mysteries. The series stars Yannick Bisson, Thomas Craig, Helene Joy and Jonny Harris and revolves around Detective William Murdoch of the Toronto constabulary, who uses groundbreaking forensic techniques to close his cases. The series’ fifth season runs 13 episodes and is set to premiere on Alibi on Tuesday February 28th at 9pm.

Clinton Review: A Perfectly Crafted, A-Political Documentary

Clinton, a four hour documentary that is receiving it’s global premiere on PBS UK on Monday February 20th at 10:15pm (the series will be aired by PBS in the US some four hours later at 9/8c), is not something I sat down to watch without reservation. In fact, truth be told, as someone who wrote an incredibly long college paper on the life and presidency of William Jefferson Clinton, I went in with the frame of mind that this documentary would not impress me in the slightest.
