BBC Three Orders Comedy Pilot ‘Boom Town’

BBC Three has ordered Boom Town, a comedy pilot for a 30-minute sketch series. Boom Town will feature real life people in the eponymous (and fictional) Boom Town, where they will appear to live together as a community. Fake road signs and carefully selected geography shots will all help create this illusion. Cast from all over the country, the characters will have their own catchphrases, eccentricities and larger than life personalities, none of which will be scripted for them; they’ll be simply playing themselves. The 30 minute pilot is being produced for BBC Three by Knickerbockerglory TV, with Karl Warner and Jonathan Stadlen serving as executive producers. Hannah Springham is set to direct.

Terry O’Quinn & Brandon Jay McLaren To Guest Star On Falling Skies

Terry O’Quinn (Lost) and Brandon Jay McLaren (The Killing) have signed up for guest roles on the upcoming second season of TNT’s science-fiction series Falling Skies, TVWise has learned. Terry O’Quinn has signed up to play Arthur Manchester, Tom’s mentor and former professor, in the two-part season finale. While Brandon Jay McLaren (The Killing) will play resident engineer and technology expert Jamil Dexter. The second season of Falling Skies is set to premiere on TNT on Sunday June 17th at 9/8c.
