At their TCA panel today, FX announced that they have renewed comedy series Louie for a fourth season of 13 episodes.
AMC has cancelled The Killing after airing two seasons and 26 episodes of the drama series, the network announced today.
With the Olympics now upon us and the BBC expecting record viewing figures, BBC One is rolling out an aggressive advertising campaign (titled “BBC One Presents Original British Drama – Made in Britain”) to highlight the forthcoming season of original dramas which will begin airing on the channel this autumn.
BBC Two has ordered a new period drama series titled Peaky Blinders. The drama series, which hails from Steven Knight, Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions, has been given a six episode order for its first season, which is set to air in 2013.
Exclusive: Channel 4, as part of a deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution which saw the company acquire the UK rights to comedy series The New Normal for E4, has extended its existing licensing deals for both New Girl and Homeland. Under the new deal the company has acquired the UK broadcast rights to not only the second seasons of both shows but also to the prospective third seasons, assuming both shows are renewed by Fox and Showtime, respectively. New Girl airs on E4, while Homeland will continue to air on Channel 4.
ABC is the last of the five broadcast networks to announce their fall premiere dates (CBS, The CW, Fox and NBC have already done so). Today’s announcement from ABC confirmed that freshman comedy series The Neighbors would swap time slots with sophomore Suburgatory, with The Neighbors now in the Wednesday night 8:30pm time-slot and Suburgatory occupying the 9:30pm time-slot. Other than the time-slot swap, there were not a lot of surprises contained within the network’s announcement. Almost all of ABC’s series (including Castle, Last Resort and Nashville) are launching in late September or early October.
