I have just learned that Channel 5 has closed a deal with NBCUniversal International Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Trisha Goddard’s new US daytime talk show Trisha. The series, which is aired in first-run syndication in the US, is set to premiere on Channel 5 in mid-October.

Sky Atlantic Acquires UK Rights To Oliver Stone’s Documentary Series ‘The Untold History Of The United States’

Sky Atlantic has closed a deal with FreemantleMedia Enterprises to acquire the exclusive first run free and basic UK TV rights to Oliver Stone’s ten-hour documentary series The Untold History of The United States. The series, which has taken the better part of four years to complete, will air on Showtime in the US on Monday November 12th at 8/7c and on Sky Atlantic in 2013.

Hugh Bonneville Cast As Lead In BBC One’s ‘Mr Stink’ Adaptation

Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) is set to play the lead in BBC One’s upcoming adaptation of David Walliams’ childrens novel Mr Stink. Bonneville has been cast as the eponymous character, who is befriended by local girl Chloe. The one hour TV movie will form part of BBC One’s Christmas line-up, alongside the follow up to the 2011 Christmas comedy Lapland, and will enter production in October.
