EXCLUSIVE: The upcoming BBC Three/BBC In House zombie series In The Flesh has booked a slew of guest stars for its first season. Susan Twist, Matthew Walker, Karen Henthorn, Amy-Joyce Hastings, Julien Ball and newcomer Stephen Thompson have all booked guest spots on the series. Created by Dominic Mitchell, In The Flesh is set in a small town in the north of England and picks up after a zombie uprising, just as rehabilitated zombies are being reintroduced back into society. Production on the series is currently underway in Manchester with BBC Three eyeing a 2013 premiere.

BBC America has finalised casting for its upcoming sc-fi series Orphan Black. Tatiana Maslany (Picture Day) has been cast in the lead role of Sarah, an outsider and orphan whose life changes dramatically after witnessing the suicide of a woman who looks just like her. Other main cast members include Maria Doyle Kennedy (The Tudors), Dylan Bruce (The Bay), Jordan Gavaris (Degrassi), Kevin Hanchard (The Listener), Michael Mando (Territories), Elizabeth Saunders (Saving Hope), and Ron Lea (Saving Hope).

Earlier this month, TVWise broke the news that BBC Two had given the green-light to a TV movie about the Challenger disaster titled Final Flight. In the previous report, we revealed that the movie was a co-production with America’s Science Channel and that the project, which was written by Kate Gartside, was based on Richard Feynman’s book What Do You Care What Other People Think and was being described as a “political drama surrounding the Challenger disaster that occurred on January 28, 1986.” BBC Two made that official today by formally announcing that they had commissioned the 90 minute drama.

ITV has ordered a new two-part drama set during World War II titled Murder On The Home Front. The drama is loosely based on the memoires of Molly Lefebure, the secretary to Home Office pathologist Keith Simpson during World War II, and is being produced by NBCUniversal’s Carnival Fims. The script was written by Davy Kane, Geoffrey Sax is directing with Gareth Neame and Sally Woodward Gentle serving as executive producers. Production is currently underway with ITV1 eyeing a 2013 premiere.
