BBC One’s ‘Silent Witness’ Sets Directors For Season 16

EXCLUSIVE: The upcoming sixteenth season of BBC One’s long-running drama series Silent Witness is already poised to be one of change, so, perhaps unsurprisingly, the BBC is bringing in a number of experienced directors to helm the 10 episodes of the season. I’ve learned that Anthony Byrne, Richard Clark, Thaddeus O’Sullivan, David Richards and Douglas Mackinnon have all been signed to direct various episodes of season 16. My sources tell me that all 5 directors will helm 2 episodes, which will be two part stories. Production on season 16 is currently underway, with BBC One eyeing a 2013 premiere.

Channel 5 Acquires UK Rights To ‘Person Of Interest’ Season 2

EXCLUSIVE: I have just learned that Channel 5 has closed a deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the second season of Person of Interest. My sources were clear to stress that Person of Interest has been a solid performer for Channel 5 and that the current mid-season break the series is on (after airing only 10 episodes of season 1) is not down to the ratings performance of the series. I hear that the second half of season 1 will return to Channel 5 in late January while season 2 is tentatively scheduled to premiere in Autumn 2013.
