Georgia Taylor & Patterson Joseph Join ‘Law & Order: UK’ As Series Regulars

Following the departure of series regulars Harriet Walter and Freema Agyeman, Kudos Film & TV/NBCUniversal had been looking for two new actors to join the series in the roles of a crown prosecutor and a new commanding officer for the police team. They’ve now found those two actors in Georgia Taylor and Patterson Joseph, who are joining the main cast of Law & Order: UK for its upcoming eight episode seventh season. Also set to reprise his role is season seven is Peter Davison, who will return as Henry Sharpe, the Director of the Crown Prosecution Service.

PBS America Secures Rights To “Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet” In First Indie Deal

PBS America – in its first deal with an independent distributor – has secured the exclusive pay TV rights to the upcoming documentary film Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet. The deal was made with independent distributor Dogwoof. Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet will premiere on PBS America in January 2013 following the film’s UK wide cinematic release on November 16th.

It’s Official: Syfy Acquires US Broadcast Rights To ‘Continuum’, Sets Premiere For January 14th

It has been one of the worst kept secrets in TV circles in recent memory, but Syfy has now formally announced that they have acquired the exclusive US broadcast rights to both seasons (23 episodes) of the Canadian sci-fi series Continuum from international distributor GK-tv. The show’s ten episode first season is set to premiere on Monday January 14th at 8/7c, leading in to the third season premiere of Being Human at 9/8c and the third season premiere of fellow Canadian import Lost Girl at 10/9c. Continuum is the latest international series to be acquired by Syfy. The network also recently picked up the rights to the British series Sinbad and the Canadian series Primeval: New World. All three series join a growing line up of imported scripted originals which includes Lost Girl and the BBC’s Merlin.

‘Covert Affairs’ Star Richard Coyle Joins Cast Of ITV1’s ‘Life Of Crime’

Richard Coyle (Covert Affairs) has joined the cast of  ITV1’s upcoming three part drama Life Of Crime. Coyle has been cast as Detective Sergeant Ray Deans of London’s Metropolitan Police Service, who serves as the partner to main character Denise Woods (Hayley Atwell). Also starring in the three part drama is Con O’Neill (Lewis), Amanda Drew (Switch), Christopher Fulford (Whitechapel), Ruth McCabe (The Street), Julian Lewis Jones (Stella), Joel Beckett (The Office) and Ray Panthaki (EastEnders).
