On the heels of winning the BAFTA for Best Single Drama last night, BBC Two has picked up Murder to series. There is no official word on how many episodes have been ordered for the show’s first season.
EXCLUSIVE: Since the news that 24 may make a comeback as a limited event series on Fox broke last week, fans have been rejoicing. Today, when Fox formally announced the series (titled 24: Live Another Day), those fans cheered a little louder. But as they did, UK 24 fans asked themselves if and when the series would appear on Sky. Since word broke last week, we have received countless emails asking if the series would be aired in the UK by Sky (well not countless, last count was at 17). The answer to that question, I’m told, is almost certainly yes, but its not as clear cut as previous years.
UPDATE, 17:18 PM: Sources now tell me that following Lindsay’s departure Scottish actor Mark Bonnar has assumed the role of Deputy Chief Constable Mike Dryden, who, following an ambush which leaves three police officers dead, takes personal charge of the case and assigns anti-corruption unit AC-12 to get to the bottom of the matter. Bonnar’s previous credits include Shetland, Silent Witness and The Paradise. The BBC has yet to confirm this piece of casting news, but I’m now hearing it from two different sources.

Subject to heavy bidding from multiple networks, the Sony Pictures Television produced series landed a 22 episode straight-to-series order from NBC back in August 2012. A reboot of the 1960s series which starred Raymond Burr, Ironside is one of 6 new dramas ordered for NBC’s 2013-2014 schedule. The series, which hails from Universal Television and stars Blair Underwood as the titular character, follows a tough, sexy and acerbic police detective relegated to a wheelchair after a shooting. Amongst the 13 new shows that NBC has ordered for next season is Sean Saves The World, a sitcom which follows a man who must figure out how to parent his 14-year-old daughter while navigating a temperamental new boss at work.
