CBS’ drama series Under The Dome got off to a good start last night for UK broadcaster Channel 5.
History Orders ‘Houdini’ Mini-Series, Adrien Brody & Kristen Connolly To Star
Following the success of scripted mini-series Hatfields & McCoys and The Bible, History has given the green-light to a new mini-series titled Houdini. The four hour effort is set to enter production this fall and will star Academy Award winner Adrien Brody (The Pianist) as the ace magician and Kristen Connolly (House of Cards) as his wife Bess.
‘Rizzoli & Isles’ Star Lee Thompson Young Dead At 29
Lee Thompson Young, who has played the series regular role of Detective Barry Frost on TNT’s flagship series Rizzoli & Isles for the past four seasons, has died in an apparent suicide. He was 29. Young’s previous TV credits included roles on FlashForward, Smallville, The Good Guys and The Event.

BBC Two Acquires UK Rights To German WW2 Drama ‘Generation War’
BBC Two has sealed a deal with Arrow Films to acquire the UK broadcast rights to German public broadcaster ZDF’s three-part Second World War drama Generation War. The deal ensures that Generation War will be the first foreign language series to debut on BBC Two in the better part of twelve years; since the second season of The Kingdom in 2001.

BBC Three has ordered six documentaries for its returning Fresh strand, which was launched in 2008 and aims to give up-and-coming filmmakers the chance to tell stories that are relevant to younger audiences.
Gold’s ‘You, Me And Them’ & ITV’s ‘Lucan’ Add To Casts

I’ve learned that James Alexandrou (EastEnders), Ken Collard (Cuckoo) and Su Douglas (Coronation Street) are amongst the many actors who will be appearing on the series in guest roles. Created by Steve Turner, You, Me and Them tells the story of Ed (Anthony Head) and Lauren (Eve Myles) who are madly in love, despite their 20 plus-year age gap. The only problem is that Lauren’s family and everyone around them seems to have an opinion on the subject. Ed’s ex-wife Lydia rents the house opposite the couple, Lauren’s family are constantly meddling and Ed’s friends think she’s a trophy girlfriend. You can choose your partner but you can’t choose your family. Lindsay Duncan, Susie Blake, Alice Felgate, Miller Henderson, Nigel Betts, Joshua McGuire, Marcus Garvey, Daisy Beaumont and Jeff Rawle also star. Hat Trick Productions is producing the comedy series with Angela Sinden serving as the producer and Helen Williams serving as the executive producer. Bob Servant Independent helmer Simon Hynd is attached to direct.

Less than a yeat fter 30 Rock ended its seven year run on NBC, Tina Fey is getting another comedy on network television. Following a heated bidding war, Fox has landed Fey’s new (and currently untitled) multi-camera comedy project with a straight-to-series order.
