ITV Renews ‘The Job Lot’ & ‘Vicious’, ‘The Job Lot’ On The Move To ITV2
Despite struggling ratings and being panned by critics, ITV’s two newest comedy efforts Vicious (which will also return later this year for a Christmas special) and The Job Lot will be returning for their second seasons. The announcement was made at the Edinburgh TV Festival by ITV’s Peter Fincham , who also revealed that The Job Lot would relocate to ITV2 for its second season and that (as TVWise previously reported) ITV2’s Plebs has also been renewed for a second season.

UKTV’s Dave is adding a new comedy to its line up. The channel has given the green-light to a new six episode comedy series titled Crackanory, which hails from Tiger Aspect Productions and will feature such comedy talent as Harry Enfield and Jack Dee. The series is expected to air on Dave later this year alongside original commissions Ross Noble Freewheeling and Dave Gorman’s Modern Life is Goodish.

At the Edinburgh TV Festival today, BBC One Controller Charlotte Moore announced the commission of a 90 minute adaptation of the Road Dahl novel Esio Trot, which will star Dame Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman; and Ordinary Lies, a new six episode drama series which hails from Danny Brocklehurst and Red Production Company.
Channel 4 has given the green-light to a new period drama series set in the final years of British rule in India titled Indian Summers. The drama series, which hails from Vera scribe Paul Rutman and New Pictures, has received an order for ten hour-long episodes. Production on Indian Summers is expected to commence in 2014. US Public broadcaster PBS are co-producing the series and will air the drama state-side as part of their Masterpiece strand.
