The four episode final season (titled Hereafter when it aired state-side) of Showtime’s comedy series The Big C will receive its UK premiere on More4 on Thursday September 19th at 10pm, it has been announced.
The seventh (and final) season of CBS’ comedy series Rules of Engagement will receive its UK premiere on E4 on Tuesday September 17th at 9pm, it has been announced.
BBC Three’s comedy series returned for its second season last night and drew an overnight audience of 832K viewers and a 4.6% share. Those figures are up slightly on the 830K viewers and the 4.3% share that the season 1 premiere drew last year. That strong overnight figures come in addition to the series’ strong performance on BBC iPlayer, where the premiere episode, which was available for a week ahead of its TV debut as part of BBC Three’s new digital initiative, drew a total of 1.5 million iPlayer requests.
The UKTV owned and operated Good Food has commissioned a new 10 episode food series title John Torode’s Australia which will see renowned international chef John Torode embark on a culinary road trip across Australia. The series, which will be both advertiser funded and feature product placement, is expected to air on Good Food in 2014.

Tom Hollander (Rev.) Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), Ewen Bremner (Page Eight) and Phoebe Fox (New Tricks) have been cast in BBC Two’s upcoming 90 minute Dylan Thomas biopic A Poet In New York. Tom Hollander has been cast in the lead role of Dylan Thomas, while Essie Davis has been cast as Dylan’s wife Caitlin. Production on the drama recently got underway in in Cardiff and Laugharne, with BBC Two eyeing a 2014 premiere.
The Amazon owned streaming service LOVEFiLM has closed a deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) which will see a number of Warner Bros. owned animated series made available to subscribers of the streaming service in the UK. The pact is part of LOVEFiLM’s strategy of making more kids content available online and follows on from a similar deal with NBCUniversal which covered such titles as Rastamouse, Curious George and The Land Before Time.
