Channel 4 has closed a deal with NBCUniversal International Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Fox’s comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine for its E4 channel. The series, which debuted last night on Fox in the United States, is set to premiere in early 2014.
BBC One’s new fantasy series Atlantis will premiere on Saturday September 28th at 8:25pm, it has been announced.
UKTV – the commercial network which is a joint venture between Scripps Networks Interactive and BBC Worldwide – is having a good year. Following on from becoming the fastest growing commercial network in 2012, the company just this week chose to disclose its year-end financial results for the first time; boasting revenue of £262 million and an operating profit of £71 million for 2012.

Extending their existing relationship with Entertainment One (eOne), who are the studio behind Haven, Syfy has closed a deal with the company to acquire the US broadcast rights to Space’s upcoming Canadian drama series Bitten. The show’s first season, which consists of 13 episodes,will premiere on Syfy in 2014.
UPDATE, Oct 14th: I’ve now confirmed that Martin Trenaman has closed a deal to join the cast of Babylon, which was just picked up to series with a six episode order. The cast also includes James Nesbitt (Monroe), Brit Marlin (Community), Paterson Joseph (Law & Order: UK), Andrew Brooke (Da Vinci’s Demons), Jill Halfpenny (Lightfields), Adam Deacon, Daniel Kaluuya, Jonny Sweet and Bertie Carvel. Martin Trenaman is repped by Shepherd Management.
Employing the same tactic they recently used for the final season of Breaking Bad, AMC has announced that they have increased the episode order for Mad Men‘s final season to 14 episodes, which will air in two parts; with the first seven episodes (The Beginning) airing in Spring 2014 and the final seven (End of and Era) following in 2015.
The first season of CBS’s comedy series The Millers will receive its UK premiere on Comedy Central on Monday October 14th at 9:30pm, it has been announced.
