EXCLUSIVE: BBC One’s high profile co-production Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell has found another of its key cast members. I’ve learned that Vincent Franklin (The Thick of It) has joined the BBC One/BBC America/Space co-pro as series regular Christopher Drawlight. Based on the bestselling novel by Susanna Clarke, Jonathan Strange And Mr Norrell is set during the Napoleonic Wars in an England where magic once existed and is about to return. The series was adapted for television by Peter Harness (who is writing all 7 episodes), with Toby Haynes attached to direct. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell is being produced by Cuba Pictures and is being co-produced with BBC America, in association with Feel Film, Far Moor, Screen Yorkshire and Bell Media’s Space. The series stars Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan), Bertie Carvel (Hidden), Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures), Marc Warren (Mad Dogs), Samuel West (Fleming), Charlotte Riley (Easy Virtue), Enzo Cilenti (Prisoners Wives) and Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones).
