Netflix UK & Ireland has reached a deal with Sony Pictures Television to acquire the exclusive rights to Better Call Saul, the upcoming Breaking Bad spin-off which is due to air on AMC in 2014. The series will launch on Netflix UK & Ireland within days of its US premiere next year.
AMC’s drama series The Walking Dead will return to FOX UK to finish airing its fourth season on Monday February 10th at 9pm, a mere 24 hours after its US broadcast on AMC, it has been announced.

Channel 4 has given the green-light to three new broadcast comedy pilots: Flack, a comedy about a PR which hails from Hat Trick Productions and will star Sheridan Smith; Catastrophe, a romantic comedy from Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan; and Sit.com, a family sitcom from David Baddiel. Production on all three pilots is set commence in the coming weeks, with Channel 4 eyeing 2014 premieres.
UKTV is looking to iconic comedy series Porridge for their next original commission. The commercial network, which is a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks Interactive, has given the greenlight to Porridge: The Inside Story, a new documentary series for their Gold channel comprising three hour-long specials which will mark the 40th anniversary and tell the real story behind the legendary comedy series.
Late last year, before the BBC had even announced their own Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor biopic, Lifetime’s original television movie Liz & Dick finally made it to air in the United States. Unlike the BBC’s own biopic Burton and Taylor, Liz & Dick takes a more complete look at the troubled love affair of the couple, who were the talk of the industry for so very long.
TNT’s drama series Major Crimes will return to Universal Channel to finish airing its second season on Monday January 13th at 9pm, it has been announced.
