After facing Espanyol, only one more test remains, a final warm up against Brighton & Hove Albion as the Saints look to fine tune their tactics and settle their starting XI.
Espanyol finished 14th in La Liga last season and have only recently started their preparations for the new campaign.
The Spanish side remain unbeaten in pre-season so far, holding Girona to a goalless draw before cruising to a 4-1 victory over Paralada.
They still have four more friendlies on the calendar, including tough tests against Wolfsburg and Newcastle, before their La Liga season kicks off on August 17 against Atlético Madrid.
Southampton are preparing for life back in the Championship after finishing bottom of the Premier League last term.
With the English season starting earlier, the Saints returned to training ahead of their Spanish counterparts and have already completed four pre season matches winning two and drawing two.
