Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference club Nashville SC will be hosting Premier League side Aston Villa in a pre season friendly fixture at their home ground, the Geodis Park.

The club from England started their pre-season with two losses on-the-trot against Walsall and Hansa Rostock; the next match against Eintracht Frankfurt was a 2-2 draw.

Their first win came against St. Louis City, courtesy of goals by Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins.

The match against Nashville will provide the perfect opportunity for Unai Emery’s men to register their second consecutive win of the summer.

Nashville SC have had a slow start to the current season, after failing to qualify for the MLS playoffs in the previous one.

They have achieved some sort of a turnaround; Nashville have now lost just two out of their last sixteen league fixtures, and sit on a comfortable third position on the Eastern Conference standings.

Manager BJ Callaghan, having led his team to win seven out of  eight fixtures in all competitions, succumbed 1-0 to San Diego at the Snapdragon Stadium.

The team will now look to get back on winning ways in the fixture against Aston Villa.

Although there were rumours regarding the exits of several first team stars, including Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Martinez, these players have now rejoined the team, hugely bolstering the squad.
