Liverpool enter the game in a rejuvenated condition following their 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, which extended the Reds’ winning streak to four games in all competitions.

The win propelled Arne Slot’s men to the Top 4 of the Premier League charts, and the gaffer will be keen to hold on to this spot and achieve European qualification for the next season.

Liverpool fans will also be provided with hopes of a strong performance by their previous record in games played on New Year’s Day; the Reds have not been beaten in any such fixture for 21 years now.

Leeds United, on their part, are also on an unbeaten run of five games, and are safely out of the relegation zone, at least for the time being. Their most recent outing against Sunderland resulted in a 1-1 draw.

The away record of the Whites is, however, quite worrying; Daniel Farke’s men have not registered a win in any of their last six games played away from Elland Road. The team have also conceded at least one goal in all of their such fixtures. Saturday’s game will, however, provide an opportunity for Leeds United to register their second win on the trot while playing at Anfield, following their last 2-1 victory recorded back in 2022.

As things stand, a win for Liverpool can be predicted as the possible outcome of the fixture.
