The Bees, heralded by their new man in charge Keith Andrews, will be taking on
Primeira Liga side Gil Vicente in what will be their first pre-season friendly of the
summer.

The match will present opportunities for new signings Caoimhín Kelleher, Antoni
Milambo and Jordan Henderson to showcase their skills as they could possibly their first appearances for the club in this fixture.

Andrews will be looking to start the pre season with a victory, while also easing the team into the new marquee signings.

Portuguese side Gil Vicente are coached by their former player César Peixoto, will be entering the match with the same target in mind.

They will be looking to improve upon their 2024-25 season, during which they finished 13th in the league table, while also earning plaudits for their excellent possession based football, which saw only six teams averaging more possession than them throughout the league season.

The Portuguese side, although brilliant defensively in the 2024-25 season, lacked
enough firepower to provide them with a higher league finish; only nine teams scored fewer goals than Gil Vicente last season.

They will also be dependent on the 20-year-old holding midfielder Mohamed Bamba, who can easily catch the eyes of people seeing him for the first time.

The young Ivorian had made just 13 appearances in the Primeira Liga, but has already become an important part of Gil Vicente.
