Middlesbrough v Wrexham on TV: Live Streaming Details
Middlesbrough v Wrexham will be shown live in the UK on ITV1, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football, with streaming also available via ITVX and the STV Player. Kick off time is at 20:00 BST on Friday 7th August 2026.
Wrexham begin their season at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium, a repeat of the corresponding fixture on the final day of last season which finished 2-2.
Phil Parkinson’s side narrowly missed out on the Championship playoffs last term and have added midfielder Ben Whiteman to their squad this week, following the earlier signing of Danny Imray.
Ryan Hardie remains sidelined with a thigh problem, while Elliot Lee, Ben Sheaf and Josh Windass are also doubts having missed recent friendlies through injury.
Middlesbrough will be looking to avoid a repeat of last season’s shock first round exit to Doncaster Rovers, having reached the semi finals of this competition as recently as 2023-24.
Kim Hellberg’s side have strengthened this summer with the arrivals of Sebastian Berhalter, Max Arfsten, Kyle Joseph, Jeremy Sarmiento and Will Lankshear, though Alex Bangura, Alfie Jones, Riley McGree and Tommy Conway have all missed the entirety of pre-season.
Both clubs open their league campaigns next weekend, with Middlesbrough hosting newly promoted Lincoln City and Wrexham facing a Welsh derby against Cardiff City.
