Channel 5 & Acorn TV Order The Reluctant Madame Blanc, Sally Lindsay To Star

Channel 5 and Acorn TV have jointly ordered The Reluctant Madame Blanc, a new six-part thriller created by and starring Sally Lindsay.

Lindsay, known for Cold Call and Mount Pleasant, plays Jean White, a respected antiques dealer who runs a business in Cheshire with her husband Rory. When Rory dies suddenly on his way back from the South of France, Jean discovers that their money has vanished, the shop has been re-mortgaged and their assets sold off, leaving her with just one thing he never parted with: a cottage in the French antiques town of Saint Victoire. Convinced something is wrong, she heads there in search of answers.

Lindsay co-wrote the series with Sue Vincent, who also takes an on-screen role. It will be directed by Dermot Boyd and produced by Andy Morgan, with Clapperboard and Saffron Cherry Productions co-producing.

The series will premiere on Acorn TV across the United States and other territories before airing on Channel 5 in the UK. The order follows the broadcasters’ recent commission of the crime drama Dalgliesh.
