BBC Three’s Glow Up Renewed For Second Season

BBC Three has renewed Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star for a second series, ordering a further eight episodes of the make-up competition.

Stacey Dooley returns to host, with industry judges Val Garland, Global Make-Up Director for L’Oréal Paris, and Dominic Skinner, Global Senior Artist for MAC, again deciding which of the aspiring make-up artists progresses each week.

The format sends contestants through a mix of real-world professional assignments and themed creative briefs. The first series saw them tackle everything from film special effects and fashion shoots to the catwalk and drag, with guest judges including NikkieTutorials, Kim Chi and photographer Rankin.

The opening series, won by Ellis Atlantis, proved a strong performer for BBC Three, with its weekly challenges widely recreated by fans online. The channel’s controller, Fiona Campbell, said developing formats that can return was part of the channel’s DNA. The series streams on BBC iPlayer.
