Another defeat would drag the Bees back into a scrap they would prefer to avoid, despite a generally encouraging start under head coach Keith Andrews. However, Brentford arrive at this fixture on the back of successive league defeats.

Losses to Tottenham and Arsenal may have been expected on paper, but they could also be viewed as missed opportunities given some of the results Brentford have produced this season.

Andrews’ side have already claimed eye catching victories over Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United, underlining their ability to compete with the division’s strongest teams.

Much of that success has been built at the Gtech Community Stadium, where Brentford have been far more convincing.

The Bees have won five and lost just one of their seven home league matches so far, a stark contrast to their struggles on the road, where they have managed only one win and suffered seven defeats.

There has also been a dramatic shift in momentum at Leeds over the past fortnight.

Daniel Farke appeared to be under serious pressure after four consecutive defeats sent his side into the bottom three. Since then, Leeds have shown renewed resilience, pushing Manchester City all the way before a last minute setback, beating Chelsea, and then earning a battling 3-3 draw with Liverpool.

Those results have lifted Leeds to 16th in the standings and two points above the drop zone, easing some of the immediate pressure on Farke. However, concerns remain over their away form, with the Whites having lost six of their seven league matches on the road this season and collecting just a single victory.

Leeds also have a poor recent record in London, losing their last nine Premier League matches in the capital. Their most recent top flight win there came against Brentford in May 2022, and it represents their second longest losing streak in London in the division’s history.

Goals could be on the agenda on Sunday.

Five of Brentford’s last six home league games have produced at least four goals, and despite recent defeats, the Bees have not lost three Premier League matches in a row since February 2024.

With Brentford’s strong home form and Leeds’ ongoing away struggles, the hosts will be confident of edging an entertaining contest.
