UKTV Drama Channel Acquires UK Rights To Father Brown Spin-Off The Sister Boniface Mysteries

UKTV’s Drama channel has picked up the UK rights to The Sister Boniface Mysteries, a spin-off of the popular Father Brown.

The series revives a character first seen in a 2013 episode of Father Brown: Sister Boniface, played by Lorna Watson, a Catholic nun who happens to hold a doctorate in forensic science. Set in the 1960s, it follows her as she puts her scientific know-how to work helping the local police solve murders in a sleepy English town.

Produced by BBC Studios, it sits comfortably alongside the cosy, period crime that Drama has built its schedule around. The channel plans to show it on linear TV and on its UKTV Play streaming service.
