Premier League club Crystal Palace have travelled to Austria on a training camp, and as part of it, will be facing Bundesliga side FC Augsburg in a friendly fixture, rather than two 90-minute fixtures being held back to-back.

Both matches will be staged at the HF Stadion Bad Wimsbach.

The Eagles have had a strong start to their pre-season campaign after a strong finish to the 2024-25 season: one that saw them win the FA Cup, their first major trophy in 119 years of existence, and courtesy of that, qualification to continental competitions for the first time as well.

In this pre season, they have already registered 1-0 and 3-0 victories against Millwall and Crawley Town, respectively.

The two matches against Augsburg will be the Eagles’ third and fourth matches of the pre-season.

Although Palace won the FA Cup in the previous season, they will now look to secure a higher league finish, having finished on 12th spot in 2024-25 Premier League table.

Coach Oliver Glasner will look to continue this winning streak in the matches against the Fuggerstädter.

FC Augsburg, the Bundesliga side, also finished in 12th spot on the league charts, similar to their English counterparts.

Contrary to Palace, the pre-season of the German outfit has been somewhat of a rollercoaster ride; the Fuggerstädter began their campaign with 4-1 and 2-0 losses against Memmingen and Austria Lustenau, before winning back to back games against 3. Liga side Rot-Weiss Essen, 2-1 and 4-1 respectively.

Sandro Wagner’s side will look to capitalise on the form gained by the last two victories and showcase a good game of football against their English opposition.
