Under Carlos Corberán, consistency was hard to come by, with the team losing two of their last three league matches and only managing a single draw.

They did manage to survive and now face another season in the Spanish top flight.

Despite the off-season break, signs of progress remain limited.

Valencia have already played two friendlies—losing 2-1 to lower-tier Castellón and drawing 0-0 with Leganés, highlighting continued issues in both defence and attack.

Their French opponents Marseille come into this match in fine form.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side ended last season strongly and are carrying that momentum into their pre season.

They are currently on an eight-match unbeaten streak stretching back to mid-April, including six wins and two draws.

The team has impressed and will be looking to build even more confidence ahead of the start of Ligue 1.
