Shine International has sold Gracepoint to broadcasters in Australia and Canada, with Foxtel taking the drama down under and Global picking it up in Canada.
A ten-part limited series for the US network Fox, Gracepoint is an American remake of the acclaimed British drama Broadchurch, with original creator Chris Chibnall on board. David Tennant, who led the UK version, stars again as the lead detective, here named Emmett Carver, opposite Anna Gunn as his partner Ellie Miller.
Set in a small Northern California coastal town, the series follows the investigation into the death of a young boy, a tragedy that fractures the close-knit community and draws an unwelcome media spotlight. The deals add Australia and Canada to the show’s growing list of international homes ahead of its launch.
