BBC One has ordered The Interceptor, a new eight-part crime drama from Tony Saint, a writer on Strike Back.
The series centres on a top-secret, state-of-the-art law enforcement team whose job is to hunt down some of Britain’s most dangerous criminals. Keeping their targets under round-the-clock surveillance, the unit operates in the murky, high-stakes world of organised crime, drugs and money.
It draws on the memoir of Cameron Addicott, a former customs officer who served in an elite UK squad dedicated to bringing down major traffickers. Produced in-house by BBC Drama Productions, the series was commissioned as part of BBC One’s push for fast-paced, high-concept action drama. Casting and a transmission date are to be confirmed.
