Sky1 has acquired the UK rights to Last Man Standing, ABC’s family sitcom starring Tim Allen.
Created by Jack Burditt, the show casts Allen as Mike Baxter, a proud man’s man who runs the marketing side of an outdoor sporting goods business. At home, though, he is heavily outnumbered, sharing the house with his wife Vanessa, played by Nancy Travis, and their three daughters, which leaves him forever trying to defend his old-school view of manhood.
It marks Allen’s return to a network sitcom for the first time since Home Improvement, and trades on much the same brand of broad, family-friendly comedy. Sky1 has picked it up as part of its slate of US imports.
