ITV2 has acquired the UK rights to Scorpion, the CBS drama loosely inspired by the real-life self-proclaimed genius Walter O’Brien.
Created by Nick Santora, the series stars Elyes Gabel as O’Brien, who leads a team of brilliant but socially awkward misfits recruited by Homeland Security to tackle complex, high-tech threats. Robert Patrick plays their handler, agent Cabe Gallo, while Katharine McPhee is Paige Dineen, a waitress drawn into the group to help the geniuses connect with the world around them.
Rounding out the team are Eddie Kaye Thomas as behaviourist Toby, Jadyn Wong as mechanical prodigy Happy and Ari Stidham as human calculator Sylvester. Each episode sees the crew racing against the clock to defuse a crisis using little more than their wits, coding and engineering.
